Product description

A Spanish vermouth; herbs, walnuts, spices, et al are macerated in Macabeo wine. Like sherry, it is aged in a solera to impart deep character and consistency. The result is a nutty, concentrated, raisin-like flavor profile and a beautiful, burnt-orange color.

It’s smooth, delicious, and good blend of sweet and herbal. Just what you want from vermouth.

Macabeo is one of the three primary grapes used in the production of Spain’s famous sparkling wine, cava. Macabeo can also be used to create medium to light-bodied white wines with notes of honeydew, lime peel, and herbs like tarragon. It grows mainly in the Rioja region and areas south of Barcelona.
White wines created from macabeo are typically dry with low tannins and medium body. A young macabeo is comparable to the flavor profile of a sauvignon blanc.
Macabeo wines pair well with a variety of foods, including grilled fish, gazpacho, rice dishes, seafood stews, and cheeses like feta or goat cheese.
This white grape has multiple names. Most often associated with the Rioja growing region in Spain, it is known as viura. Its more common name, macabeo,  is typically used throughout the rest of Spain and in France.
