This crisp and refreshing white wine hails from Joel Gott winery in Napa Valley, California. Joel Gott is a 5th generation wine maker and his wines are truly a family affair. During the early 90s, Joel and his then girlfriend (and now wife), Sarah, herself a winemaker for Joseph Phelps, combined their talents and passion to create a delicious zinfandel from Lodi which was well received by Robert Parker. This big league endorsement allowed them to create many different varietals of wines, including this sassy sauvignon blanc. Even with with a growing family, they're devoted craftspeople who are deeply committed to creating quality, affordable wines.
Joel Gott Sauvignon Blanc is a blend of carefully selected 100% sauvignon blanc. They source the very best grapes from up and down the California coast, including Napa, Sonoma, Monterey, Lake County, Santa Ynez and Santa Barbara. Fermentation and bottling take place at the winery, where it's aged in the sur lie style in 100% stainless steel barrels.
Joel Gott Sauvignon Blanc is a perfect party wine. Even devoted red wine drinkers will enjoy this wine. It has notes of granny smith apple, key lime, mango, papaya and zippy hints of Meyer lemon. The bright acidity is well rounded with elements of pineapple and fresh herbal hints of lemon grass and basil. The stainless steel barrels keep the flavors bright and happy.
Joel Gott Sauvignon Blanc is incredibly food friendly. The racing acidity makes it a great companion for grilled shrimp, sea bass or even paella. Pork loin with grilled vegetables is another great match. This wine is a perfect pairing with Asian food, including sushi, Pad Thai, tuna tatake, and any noodle dishes with ginger, garlic and a dash of heat. You cannot go wrong pairing with cheeses like burrata, ricotta, goat cheese or feta. Fun and unpretentious, Joel Gott Sauvignon Blanc will give you major party points at any function you bring it to.
