Barefoot Wines live and function off the concept that wine should never be taken too seriously and we couldn't agree more. So we're big fans of this value driven, laid back bottle of wine. Barefoot was first created in the garage of winemaker Davis Bynum in 1965 where the name was inspired by the old school, carefree method of crushing grapes: With your bare feet.
In 1986 entrepreneurs Michael Houlihan and Bonnie Harvey took over the winery and officially converted the name Barefoot Cellars and created the iconic footprint logo. Fast forward to 2005 when Barefoot partnered with EJ Gallo who took their wines from a USA exclusive to six continents. That's leaps and bounds from Davis Bynum's garage. As if this success story couldn't get any better, the winery is constantly involved with non-profits and charities to make sure they're always giving back to their communities in recognition of their own humble beginnings.
Bright notes of fresh peach and honeydew come through on the nose followed by hints of grapefruit, lemon peel and a kiss of pear on the finish. A perfect bottle to enjoy on its own, or pair with your favorite mild cheeses, a roast chicken or a light flakey grilled fish. This bottle packs in a ton of value and flavor and is the perfect crowd pleaser for a large gathering or a quiet night with a loved one around the fire pit.
