This wine is made from grapes sourced from a famous Carneros, Napa Valley vineyard. (Because wines from this vineyard generally run 50%+ higher in price, we can't say what the vineyard is.) Made in true Burgundian fashion, it's whole cluster pressed, barrel fermented, full malolactic, lees-stirred, aged in 80% new French oak. The wine sings because the grapes are so good, and it's now had time to marry the wine and the winemaking. For benchmarks, think Kistler and Pahlmeyer in style. Boasts a harmony of roast hazelnuts, caramelized pineapple, preserved lemons, flan, vanilla bean and roasted apple smells and flavors. Has a creamy texture, lively acidity and pleasing richness. Drink at cellar temperature (55-60 degrees) for most enjoyment. 138 cases made.
