This delightful wine is brought to you by the largest and most acclaimed wine producer in the state of Washington. Chateau Ste. Michelle is world renowned for their quality and affordability. Their journey along the vine dates back to the repeal of Prohibition in 1933. In 1976, to celebrate the Bicentennial Birthday of the United States, they built a beautiful French style chateau, which remains the centerpiece of their beautiful vineyard in Woodinville, WA, not far from Seattle.
Chateau Ste. Michelle Chardonnay is a well-crafted blend of 100% chardonnay grapes from different vineyards in Colombia Valley, WA. The wine is aged for 6 months in 25% new American and French oak barrels. During the aging period, the winemakers use the French sur lie technique which gives the chardonnay more complexity and adds richness.
Chateau Ste. Michelle Chardonnay is sure to please any white wine fan. It features notes of bright apple, pear and peach with hints of fig and melon. There are also tropical notes of pineapple with a drizzle of honey. The sur lie process gives it a round, creamy mouthfeel and the American/French oak barrel aging provides tiny tones of butterscotch and baking spices.
Chateau Ste. Michelle Chardonnay is a delicious companion to a wide range of foods. Perfect for backyard barbeques, the wine is widely considered a perfect match with grilled chicken and salmon. The buttery notes in the chardonnay make an amazing combination with scallops. Some tasty cheese pairings would be baked brie, goat cheese, or Irish cheddar. Chateau Ste. Michelle Chardonnay is always a crowd pleaser for girls' night or game day. As with all wines, it tastes better with friends.
