Vrac Vin de Pays de Mediterranee Rose is made by taking red grapes and only allowing brief contact between the juice and skins while the juice is held cold. This is called the “Saignee" method and it helps create a wine light in color with hints of red fruit flavors and flowers. The grapes, Grenache, Cinsault, and Tibourenc are the perfect palette for the winemaker. Grenache is the backbone of the wine providing body and richness, while Cinsault and Tibourenc add to complexity and color. The flexible Vin de Pays category in France allows the winemaker to source grapes from a much larger area than the more restrictive Appellation D'origine Controlee. This gives way to flexibility and creativity for the winemaker, as well cost savings for drinkers.
