This delightful rose is from Chateau Montaud, a famous chateau in the Provence region of southwestern France. Chateau Montaud is a 3rd generation family tradition. The Ravel family returned to Provence in 1964 after years in Algeria. They sought out to make a delicious but complex rose with dedication to traditional French winemaking techniques. Delicious and lovely, Chateau Montaud Cotes de Provence rose is a bright shining example of exactly how rose should be.

The vines at Chateau Montaud get to bathe in the fresh Mediterranean breeze and absorb the brilliant southeastern French sunshine. The aromatics of the world famous herbs of Provence, (rosemary, thyme, marjoram and lavender) run rampant in the countryside air near the Maures Mountains, whose long terraces all become part of Chateau Montaud Cotes de Provence Rose. 85% percent of the grapes produced at Chateau Montaud are grenache, syrah, carignan and cinsault, which are harvested and pressed with very little aging to keep the vibrant, youthful character of this rose.

Chateau Montaud Cotes de Provence has a flavor profile that makes it easy to, as the saying goes, rose all day. This pale salmon and pink color of the wine makes it instantly appealing. Even the fun shape of the bottle, a Provence skittle (not the candy) whose history dates back to the 1600s, draws your attention.
