The smooth and delicious flavors of La Crema Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir are born of inspired winemaking by head winemaker Craig Mcallister. Born in Christchurch, New Zealand, Mcallister has studied winemaking around the world and his passion has lead him to create this excellent Sonoma Cost Pinot Noir. New Zealand is an industry leader in high quality, sustainably farmed wines, and Craig has studied those techniques extensively.

Great wine is often about great land, and there is no exception here. The vineyards that create La Crema Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir are ideally suited to the grape. Pinot Noir likes a cooler climate than Cabernet Sauvignon, therefore the cooling breeze that blows through the Petaluma Gap from the Pacific, along with the morning fogs that roll over the vineyards from San Pablo Bay, create the perfect environment. Dry sunny afternoons help burn off the fog and let the grapes ripen so the wine bustles with juicy fruit flavors. The terrain of Somona County ranges from rocky mountain soil to ocean derived limestone, with each adding complexity of the final blend.

The first impression of La Crema Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is a wine of outstanding aromatic intensity. Rich red cherry and raspberry notes laced with hints of cedar and an enticing forest floor character. Flavors of bright ripe cherry, raspberry and blackberries with hints of plum and orange are balanced with vanilla spice and toasty notes from the wine's nine months in oak. Tannins are low and very smooth with bright, crisp acidity, leading to a long, mouthwatering finish.
