Product description

Produced from the 100% Tempranillo, this native varietal is fermented and aged in oak for at least 12 months with an additional six months resting in bottle, prior to release. El Coto Crianza is exceptionally balanced with layers of fresh raspberry, cherry, spice and toasted oak, building to a silky finish. Perfectly complements a variety of meats and cheeses, especially jamon.

This red grape is the fourth most common in the world and one of the nine red noble grapes. It is typically associated with the Rioja wine region in northern Spain.
Tempranillo is typically a dry wine with medium to high levels of tannins and acidity along with an ABV of 13.5-15%.
Like merlot, tempranillo pairs nicely with aged steaks and venison along with tomato-based dishes, roasted vegetables, and polenta.
Tempranillo sounds like temp-rah-NEE-yoh. It means “little early one” as this grape tends to ripen quicker than most other Spanish grapes. In Portugal, it is known as tinta roriz or aragonez.
