For our Ivory Label Cabernet Sauvignon, we combine fruit from appellations as far north as El Dorado and as far south as Paso Robles where some of our vineyards experience diurnal temperature extremes, which slows the ripening process and enhances the rich, succulent flavors of the fruit, as well as the complexity of the palate.View all products by Francis Ford Coppola
This is a classic wine from beloved actor Francis Ford Coppola's winery in California. This wine blends grapes from as far north as El Dorado and as far south as Paso Robles in order to create the perfect balance of ripeness for their famed Diamond Collection, Ivory Label Cabernet Sauvignon. Aging for 12 months in French oak, this rich, juicy Cabernet includes all of the favorites of a Californian red wine as well as the smokiness and quality winemaking from the French tradition that only Coppola can offer. This is from a combination of warm days and cool nights, and it is that exact diurnal shift that produces the quality and complexity of flavors every wine aficionado looks for.
This luscious red wine fills the mouth with supple tannins and intense flavors of cherries, blackberries, tobacco, and rich minerals found deep in the fertile Californian soil. The balance of these flavors with the French oak induce aromas of cassis, vanilla, and anise to make this a perfect pairing for hearty red meats from a barbecue.
Renowned actor and director, Coppola is most known for his directing of the hit trilogy, The Godfather. Using the proceeds from the first of the movies, he purchased a vineyard in California and produced their first vintage in 1977. All of the grapes are organically grown, and the family winery is based off of the designs for the Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, Denmark, and are open for tours to the public where guests can taste the famed wines as well as see Coppola's collection of movie awards and memorabilia.
