Product Description

The sweet, pale ‘Blanc’ variety of vermouth was first created and made famous by Dolin in Chambéry long before Italian producers replicated the style as ‘Bianco’. The Blanc is traditionally served with a sliced strawberry, a splash of soda and a twist. Dolin blanc’s elegance and slight vanilla edge marry beautifully in the ‘new classic’ Blond Negroni. In other cocktails, Dolin Blanc pairs well with blanco tequila or other flavorful clear spirits. From its start in 1821, Dolin Vermouth de Chambéry has been the benchmark for fine French Vermouth. Dolin continues to make the authentic product according to the principles which earned Chambéry France’s only A.O. for vermouth back in 1932. Dolin has also long produced the legendary alpine liqueur Génépy from local herbs. The particular quality of Vermouth de Chambéry and Génépy was first identified in 1821 by Joseph Chavasse, whose son-in-law Ferdinand Dolin inherited the recipe and the now eponymous company. I got the dry vermouth instead of the sweet vermouth as pictured here. I haven't tried it yet.

I read, then heard from several bartenders, that a 50/50 martini shows savvy in the bartending world. After I verified with a few trusted sources, I decided to try it. So far, bonly a vodka martini ...BUT...it was outstanding. Try it and you will see...literally 50/50 ratio.

So versatile, so great in different cocktails. Excellent with gin or sherry. Adds a touch of sweetness to drier, stronger spirits. Try this if you want a slightly gentler drink, but don't want it syrupy sweet. Truly excellent in a 50/50 mix with a dry sherry like fino or amontillado. Add orange bitters and you've got a Blanc Bamboo cocktail.
