Product description

Chianti DOCG Red Wine combines sangiovese grapes with merlot and cabernet sauvignon to create this top quality red wine blend. This Ruffino wine features deep, fruity plum and intense cherry flavors, accompanied by hints of spice, hazelnut, and delicate violet aromas. Harvested from the well-known winegrowing areas of the Chianti region, this red blend goes through alcoholic fermentation aided by racking and punch-downs in stainless steel and concrete vats for two weeks, followed by four months of aging. This results in a fresh and balanced medium-bodied fruity wine that is easy to enjoy and lingers on the palate. Easy to sip and approachable, this chianti wine pairs well with Italian dishes such as ravioli, margherita pizza, and beef carpaccio, or international favorites such as a classic hamburger. As its first wine ever produced, this chianti red wine occupies a special place in the heart and history of Ruffino, serving as a benchmark for quality and consistency for many wine lovers worldwide. Please enjoy our wines responsibly. © 2022 Ruffino Import Company, Rutherford, CA

This is a good wine at an affordable price. It's also very accessible as I've seen it in tons of restaurant menus and it never disappoints. Smooth enough to enjoy during happy hour but I usually order it with a great pizza or pasta! Definitely recommend.

You can never go wrong with a nice red wine in your stash. Delicious, sweet and perfectly paired with your favorite meals.

I love Chianti, however this one I really am not a fan if. Initially I bought it simply for an Italian Red Wine cookie I made, but decided to have a glass one night - it is better to use for the cookies. Flavor wise, it’s like a watered down boxed wine. Lacking in flavor and alcohol content is so mild it’s more like drinking wine flavored water - cooking wine has a bigger kick than this stuff. Certainly won’t purchase again.

A family member brought this for a Sunday dinner! We loved its light, velvety taste! Perfect complaint for any meal. I definitely recommend for its affordability and taste. It will not disappoint even the pickiest of wine drinkers! Enjoy

Not a fan of red wine but this one is great! Not too dry or sour, not too sweet. Well balanced flavor yet with full body of aroma. Great!

I love a red wine in the afternoon to de-stress. This wine is rich in flavor and it's really affordable. It's also perfect for having at dinner parties.

This is a bit sweeter than I like my red wine. Good body and has flavours of jam, leather, and earth

Love this wine. Great with bbq steak. The bottle was gone in on setting. I felt it was a bit heavy side. Enjoyed it nevertheless.

I like most of the Ruffino wines personally. They are a little upscale but worth the splurge. I've enjoyed it with a red sauced pasta & also with a good roast beef dinner. It's full bodied and easy to sip. I'd recommend it.

This wine is by far my husband's favorite wine to drink and actually were hard to find in restaurants. I picked it up for him when we were having seafood linguine..And it was The perfect pairing. It does have a high Tanic taste to it but that is common for this type of wine. I miss the basket bottle but the new design is very elegant and the price point is right on the mark.
