The 2016 Creator's Edition has been formed in partnership with Michael Riedel.
Riedel is known for his affinity for transformation. Much like the slow transformation of a wine over the years, the German artist permutes and transfers existing materials. For Dom Pérignon he has taken the D and P in the Maison’s name and created a poetic optical metaphor for the passage of time. He did this by creating a complex layering of the two letters across both the box and the bottle labels. This is a singular mix of superpositioning, deconstruction and aggregation of the letters D and P.
Together, the Creators envisioned a shining beacon of exuberant earthly green light for the Blanc that shines down on the bottle from above, visually piercing the glass with its glow. The shards of light that escape from it echo the feeling during the vintage's tasting, bearing witness to the unequivocal sensation that crosses the mind as Dom Pérignon's champagne penetrates the heart, and warms it in its unique and indefinable light.
