Product description

Naveran Dama is an estate-bottled organic Cava to which proprietor Michel Gillieron Parellada wants to impart longevity and great body. The Naveran family legacy began in 1901. Today the Estate has 110 hectares (272 acres) of vines in the town of Torrelavit located in the Alt (high) Penedés subregion. Despite the fact that Cava is Spain's largest volume of wine exported to the U.S., Cavas are made utilizing the same methods used in Champagne and have remained Spain's best-kept secret for quality and value in wine. Caves Naveran is a premium Cava producer that uses estate-grown organic grapes. Naverán Dama is a Cava masterpiece, a combination of Chardonnay, which gives the wine body and volume, and Parellada, which imparts a zesty, bright character that cuts through the buttery roundness of the Chardonnay. Champagne lovers will enjoy this Mediterranean “farmer's fizz” with oysters, raw tuna and sushi. Its fresh acidity also compliments fruit desserts, especially peaches and sliced oranges.

FAQs

This collection of sparkling wines is Spain’s version of champagne. Primarily grown from the macabeu, parellada, xarello grapes, this bubbly blend can either be made into a white or rosé cava. To officially qualify as a cava, the sparkling wine must be made using the rigorous “traditional method” that originated in Champagne and involves double fermentation.
Cava is typically dry with zesty citrus flavors.
As a light to medium bodied sparkling wine, cava pairs exceptionally well with a number of dishes like artichokes, sheep milk cheeses, creamy sauces, paella, and fried foods.
Cava, made in Spain, is a group of sparkling wines that can rival the quality and flavors of French Champagne. It typically is far more affordable than the French versions. The main difference is that Champagne can only be made from seven approved grapes.
