Product description

Louis Pommery Brut is a non-vintage premium sparkling wine from California, made in the Methode Traditionnelle, with a fermentation in bottle and aging on lees for at least 18 months. Blend of 95% of Chardonnay and 5% of Pinot Noir carefully selected across Northern California’s finest vineyards in order to capture the essence of the land, beyond Napa Valley. From the first-of-its-kind process to remove yeast sediment with better precision to the delicate maximization of West Coast microclimates, the production of this bubbly beverage is truly an art. No detail is overlooked; it is a craftsmanship you can taste. On the eye: Beautiful straw yellow color with a wonderful effervescence On the nose: Sublime notes of green apples with both good acidity and pleasant minerality. On the palate: Green apples with harmonizing acidity and minerality, before leading to a delicate essence of lemon mousse with a buttery vitality and finishing with aromas of peaches and apricots. 90 Points Wine Spectator [Top 100 Values 2020 - Best Sparkling] 90 Points Wine Enthusiast This jovial sparkling wine pairs perfectly with appetizers, cheeses, and simple savory food such as grilled meat, fish and vegetarian dishes.

Light and fresh, very good quality for a California sparkling wine! I liked the tiny bubbles and the acidity. I enjoyed it for dinner.

FAQs

This wine is the American version of Champagne and is made from a blend of three grapes - pinot noir, chardonnay, and pinot meunier. Most sparkling wine is non-vintage, which means the winemakers have used grapes from different years and blended them. American sparkling wine is similar to Champagne but because it was not produced in the Champagne region of France, it legally can’t use that name (although some producers in the US do anyway).
Because only sparkling wine produced in the Champagne region of France can officially be called Champagne, other countries and regions are not allowed to use this designation. American producers, however, sometimes ignore this practice and label their products as American champagne or California champagne.
American sparkling wine varies in its ABV, but typically contains up to 12% alcohol content.
