Drizly Expert Notes

Korbel Extra Dry is a Californian Champagne made in the same Méthode Champenoise process used in the famed Champagne region of France. This means that the last stage of fermentation takes place inside the bottle and contributes a delicate brioche and bright citrus quality. Crisp and refreshing, Korbel Extra Dry has flavors that include light vanilla and baking spice, making it a favorite for creamy dishes such as fresh cheeses, amuse bouches, and other hors d'oeuvres. And what better way to welcome guests than with a freshly popped bottle of bubbly?

The Korbel family wines have been made using the Méthode Champenoise for 136 years out of Sonoma County, California. It's the result of two families, Korbel and Heck, joining their winemaking techniques and plots together in the 19th century to make wine of lasting excellence. The Korbel Winery regularly hosts events, including daily tastings and tours, to share their variety of wines and the history of the winery.

There are numerous dishes that can be paired with Korbel, which is part of the beauty of it. Some favorites include cream-based pastas, chicken, seafood, chowders, fruit, or charcuterie plates. Korbel also makes an excellent base for sparkling cocktails such as mimosas, French 75s, Bellinis, or any fruit drink that needs some sparkle.
