Product description
The Gloria Ferrer Sonoma Brut sparkling wine is dominated by Pinot Noir, a stylistic decision enabling the complex aromatic and palate profile that this red-skinned grape contributes to brut cuvées. It is viticultural diversity that allows us to consistently produce sparkling cuvées with complexity and clear fruit expression. Sonoma Brut is Gloria Ferrer’s flagship wine and is a pure expression of the terroir which pairs perfectly with California-inspired bites. . The flavor intensity of the wine and creaminess of the body mean that this wine can easily stand up to bold tastes like zesty herbs, jalapeño, or spicy mayo -- while the acidity in the wine keeps your palate clean when pairing with fried or creamy foods
This wine is the American version of Champagne and is made from a blend of three grapes - pinot noir, chardonnay, and pinot meunier. Most sparkling wine is non-vintage, which means the winemakers have used grapes from different years and blended them. American sparkling wine is similar to Champagne but because it was not produced in the Champagne region of France, it legally can’t use that name (although some producers in the US do anyway).
Because only sparkling wine produced in the Champagne region of France can officially be called Champagne, other countries and regions are not allowed to use this designation. American producers, however, sometimes ignore this practice and label their products as American champagne or California champagne.
American sparkling wine varies in its ABV, but typically contains up to 12% alcohol content.
