Established in 1972, Chalk Hill Wine Estate is one of California's premier producers of luxury wines. Located in the northeastern hills of Sonoma County, the Estate is perfectly situated at the convergence of several micro-climates, soils and terrains. Our vineyards are woven amongst the native oak woodlands, meadows and streams. The complexity of the terroir allows for the cultivation of a wide range of varietals including Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris, Semillon, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Syrah and Carmenere.
Nearly all the fruit for Chalk Hill's Sonoma Coast Chardonnay and Pinot is harvested from Foley Family Estate Vineyards within the Sonoma Coast AVA. These vineyards benefit from cool climates (Region 1 and Region 2) and porous soils. Each site is farmed on a block-by-block basis for low yields and great concentration. By blending fruit from several individual sites with varying growing conditions, Chalk Hill Winery produces wines that offer outstanding complexity, consistency and value.
