Whispering Angel Rosé
|Region||Cotes de Provence, France|
Whispering Angel is a blend of Grenache, Rolle, Cinsault, Syrah, and Mourvedre grapes. Strikingly pale pink in color, the aromas are fresh and fruity. On the palate, it is bone dry through the finish. The name really suits the delicate nature of this wine.View all products by Chateau d'Esclans
The Caves d'Esclans winery is located in the Côtes de Provence, an acclaimed center of rosé production in Southern France. The area is well known for its Mediterranean climate and highly regarded for its crisp and dry rosés. Sourcing from local growers in the region, Caves d'Esclans makes their famed Chateau d'Esclans wines along with a recent endeavor to produce Whispering Angel, a bright and fresh rosé named for its subtle and elegant flavors.
This wine is blend of Grenache and Cinsault, two of the more popular varieties in the region, and adds some Rolle, Southern France's version of the Italian Vermentino. The blend is produced from 108 acres of vineyard property at the Caves d'Esclans, a true representation of a rosé picked from all around the Var department, an area where rosé is queen.
The owners want to give all wine drinkers a slice of the St-Tropez rosé lifestyle. We're not sure exactly what that means, but one sip of Whispering Angel had us convinced it's the lifestyle we're fully on board with. The wine is full of bright lemon citrus, wild strawberry and tart raspberry. There's an acidity and lightness that makes for a perfect pairing with lighter fish dishes or a strawberry and balsamic salad. Basically, it's perfect for a spring daytime picnic: Elegant, bright and easy.
