Drizly Expert Notes

Upslope IPA is a 7.2% ABV IPA is a traditional IPA from Boulder, Colorado. The beer pours in a deep amber color, darker than most other IPAs, with an aroma of citrusy hops and caramel sweetness. Upslope IPA on the flavor has a complex malt character and stays more well-balanced compared to other IPAs with its caramel and depth of bready malt and toffee sweetness, while still having a familiar bitterness that IPA drinkers seek. The interaction of malt complexity, chewy medium body, and 65 IBU bitterness makes this an appealing IPA choice.

Upslope was founded in 2008 by Matt Cutter, Henry Wood and Dany Pages, who left their homes in Cleveland, Atlanta, and Argentina. The trio is inspired by their love of the outdoors and having the beer to match that experience. Upslope has two taprooms in Boulder, one in Lee Hill and one in Flatiron Park.

Based on their love of the outdoors, 1% of Upslope Craft Lager sales is donated to Trout Unlimited to preserve and protect North America's fisheries. Upslope also prides itself on being environmentally friendly and sustainable. While most breweries use 7 barrels of water for every barrel of beer, Upslope uses an average of 4 barrels of water per barrel of beer produced. In addition, all of Upslope's spent grain feeds livestock, all packaging is in aluminum cans and recycled cardboard, and all of its energy comes from wind power.
