Wine Rapel, Chile - Rapel is a sub region that is located in central Chile. Rapel is known for its viticultural variety. The Rapel river runs the region, creating rich viticultural opportunities.The Rapel river divides the Colchagua Valley in the south and Cachapoal Valley in the north. The changing climates and range of soils in the Rapel region encourage a large range of varietals, including Merlot, Viognier, and Pinot Noir. The most famous areas of the region inlcude Colchagua Valley and Cachapoal Valley, and may be more well known than the Rapel Valley. Wines not produced by either of these names are labeled 'Valle Central'.
