Drizly Expert Reviews
Stella Artois Cidre is a welcome addition to any sunny afternoon. Until now, known primarily for chocolate, waffles and beer, it might be time to add cider to the list of things that Belgium is incredible at creating. This sparkling hard cider from the team that has already been blessing us for years with their stellar European lager really shoots for the stars and hits. A blend of three varieties of apples, the result is something not quite as dry as many of the craft cider options on the market, but certainly not as sweet as many of the other big name ciders that you can find on the shelf either. Cidre is a delicate balance of flavor that strikes the perfect spot of apple goodness.
Pour Stella Artois Cidre into some of your fancy stemmed glassware, or better yet, find yourself one of their logo'd glasses and drink it the Belgian way. The cider pours like a fine champagne. Huge bubbles froth up through the golden liquid creating a giant white head the dissipates as quickly as it forms. Big aroma of both red and green apples shine brightly as you bring the glass to your lips, exciting the palate for each sip. The flavor is sweet, but it hints of tart apples and just a touch of dryness from the skins. It's a wonderful combination of apple-y deliciousness and the stunning carbonation brings it to another level of enjoyment.
Stella Artois Cidre is made for springtime picnics on flannel blankets in open parks. It's a celebration in a glass; a celebration of daily life, a celebration of friends, a celebration of fruit. Enjoy a bottle in place of a beer at your next gathering amongst friends or put it on the brunch table in place of sparkling wine. Pair this cidre with soft goat cheeses and fig jam, summer salads, or grilled chicken and fish.
