The Beau family is one of the oldest artisinal Cognac distillers in the Segonzac, the heart of the Grande Champagne region. Samuel Beau started distilling in 1895, bottling and selling his brandies under his own name, which at that time was unusual. To this day, the Beau family still takes meticulous care of their 200 plus acres of Grande Champagne fruit, most of which is Ugni Blanc with a tiny fraction of Colombard. The VS is an outstanding deal in Cognac for a brandy of its quality, showing zesty stone fruit on the nose with more pronounced flavors on the palate. Most VS entry level Cognacs are simply light and drinkable. The Beau VS steps far beyond drinkable into the expressive and complex. A remarkable young Cognac.
