Setting the benchmark for all other tequilas isn't easy, but then again, there's nothing quite like Patron Añejo. Handcrafted from the finest 100 percent Weber Blue Agave, this exceptionally smooth tequila is only distilled in small batches at the Patron distillery in Jalisco, Mexico.
The process of taking Patron Añejo from the agave fields to your palate is an age-old process that demands care and attention. Each agave pina is roasted for three days in a mason brick oven, crushed with a two-ton volcanic stone wheel, fermented for a minimum of 72 hours and distilled in copper stills. It's then placed in white oak barrels and aged for 12 to 15 months. Once it's done aging, it's poured into a custom-made bottle topped with a cork made from trees in Portugal.
Patron Añejo is exceptional in color, aroma and taste. A warm amber hue separates it from the clear colors of the other tequilas in their esteemed lineup. Oak, vanilla and raisins hit you in the nose when you open the bottle, and these smells transfer to your mouth with a touch of honey. At the end, it finishes with caramel and smoky notes.
