Because isn't that the whole point?
Brewed with hefty amounts of European malts and four kinds of American hops, Dale's Pale Ale delivers a blast of hop aromas redolent of citrus and spice, which are then complemented by toasty and sweet malts. This brew has a silky mouthfeel with an accompanying lingering bitterness. ABV 6.50View all products by Oskar Blues Brewery
Oskar Blues' Dale's Pale Ale isn't just a dramatically delicious beer, but it is one of America's first ever craft pale ales to be canned. Born in the town of Lyons, Colorado, brewed with that infamous Rocky Mountain water, Dale's Pale Ale is really something special. Loaded with big hop aroma and flavor, reminding you what life in the stunning hiking trails that lie among the Rockies must taste like if you were to lick them. Canning flavorful beer is commonplace nowadays, but Oskar Blues really led the way with this one way back in 2002 when they were merely a little brewpub.
Dale's comes in a can, so why not drink it just that way? Sure, pour it into a glass if you want to get the full satisfaction of those big herbal, zesty hop aromas, or if you are just curious to see that crisp, clear malty orange coloring, but if not, just enjoy it straight out of the aluminum. Either way you'll quickly be hit by the caramelized malts, citrus rind, and herbaceous nectars that float out through the can top. This beer is certainly loaded with those beautiful west coast hops. The flavor screams IPA a bit more than pale ale, but the line is somewhat vague between the two concepts. Just know that if you are a hop lover, this beer is for you. Flavors reminiscent of pine needles, wild grass, burnt oranges, and hint of caramel roll onto the tongue. The body is light, easily drinkable and highly fulfilling.
Oskar Blues' Dale's Pale Ale is a great beer for those in love with hops, and given that it comes in a can, it's especially great for throwing into the camping cooler, bringing along for a game day tailgate, or just enjoying poolside without the fear of breaking a bottle. The big hop flavor pairs great with a sharp cheddar cheeseburger, a grilled corn salad, or bbq chicken wings.
