Very cool vintage in both Lake and Solano County where the bulk of our fruit comes from. Yields were even lower than in 2010 but that can be a good thing for concentration of flavors. We are very excited about the floral nuances this vintage brings to the finished wine. Deep ruby red in color. Bright, floral nose of cassis, dark red cherry, and rose petals. Secondary aromas of chocolatey rhubarb with hints of saddle leather and mint. Silky, medium bodied flavors of ripe red cherry, plum and cassis with backend notes of rhubarb, red meats, and Baker’s chocolate. Alcohol: 13.9% | TA: .61 | pH: 3.76 6000 cases produced. Only one critic we track has tasted this California wine so far. Above average in popularity among wines from this region. Interest in this wine is less pronounced than in previous years. Widely available in America. Merchants are listing a handful of vintages between 2007 and 2013.
