Product description

Inspired by Captain Bill Smith Grant, great-grandson of The Glenlivet's Founder George Smith, The Glenlivet 14 Year Old shines as a proud celebration of the Speyside craft. This luscious liquid is matured in bourbon and sherry casks before being selectively finished in the highest quality ex-Cognac casks. On the nose, enjoy notes full of ripe poached pears, mandarins in syrup and chocolate coated raisins. Smooth citrus, rich honey and subtle liquorice spice unravel across your palate before ending in a sweet and delicious finish.

Very smooth and the aging in a Cognac cask really makes it special. My wife who is not a scotch drinker really likes the 14yr old as I do as well

The Cognac cask adds so much flavor. The first time I tried this I was so surprised. I finished the bottle way quicker than I normally do. Then I bought another bottle. Now my bar top is never without this scotch.

This is my go to for a solid, pleasing dram without fuss. Chocolate covered raisin is definitely in there and thats what keeps me coming back. Easy to drink and great for people who are just getting into scotch. Drink it neat!

Read a lot of reviews. Bought this 14 years old. Didn't like it. No lingering taste and finish. Could have hot a better whisky for way cheaper. Would not recommend. Will sick with JW.

FAQs

Yes, whiskey is gluten-free, thanks to the distillation process used to make it. The Celiac Disease Foundation concluded that it can safely be considered gluten-free, though it’s still possible that some people with high gluten sensitivity or celiac disease could have a reaction to whiskeys created from certain grains.
Whiskey can include a large number of different distilled spirits made from fermented grain mash — usually cereal grains like rye, barley malt, wheat and corn. The drink undergoes aging in wooden containers, most often oak.
One of the reasons whiskey is so popular is that there’s no single way to enjoy it. There’s the purist route — straight and neat, no mixers, no ice — but what fun is being a purist? You can add water to it, which can enhance certain bottles’ flavors or you can add it with other ingredients to make delicious mixed drinks. It’s the foundation of the Manhattan, the Old Fashioned, the Whiskey Sour and many others.
