Product description

Highland Park 12 Year Old is the flagship whisky from the celebrated Highland Park distillery, balancing legendary Orcadian peat with maturation in the finest sherry-seasoned oak casks. Vibrant aromas of creme brulee, fresh tangerine, charred peach, and smoked kindling. Flavors of heather honey, dried fruit, warm spice and salty sea smoke. A sultry finish of brown sugar and toasted nuts, with a hint of smoke. Regularly celebrated in spirits competitions and recommended by whisky reviewers for its uncompromising quality, Highland Park 12 Year Old is for any occasion that calls for a bottle of great whisky in hand. 96 points, Great Value, Tried & True Award - Ultimate Spirits Challenge 2019 Gold Medal - The Fifty Best Single Malt Scotch Whisky 2018

Don’t know yet as I’m giving it as a Christmas gift.

There was a time when Highland Park 12 year was my go to dram. Now, with the fancy bottle and lackluster elixir it holds, HP is an unfortunate shadow of its former self. The bottle changed, as did the recipe. It was never broken gents, why attempt to fix it? And the price has skyrocketed, likely due to demands from overseas. Nonetheless, I would not pay $20 for this new version. If you return to the original product, a $40 price tag is conceivable.

This is such a good one! Tastes delicious especially with blending cocktails.

Nicely balanced and flavorful. Not my first choice for good scotch but definitely something I'll grab when if a mood strikes

Not what it used to be. Be careful of the price on this one. You shouldn’t pay more than $40 for it.

FAQs

Yes, whiskey is gluten-free, thanks to the distillation process used to make it. The Celiac Disease Foundation concluded that it can safely be considered gluten-free, though it’s still possible that some people with high gluten sensitivity or celiac disease could have a reaction to whiskeys created from certain grains.
Whiskey can include a large number of different distilled spirits made from fermented grain mash — usually cereal grains like rye, barley malt, wheat and corn. The drink undergoes aging in wooden containers, most often oak.
One of the reasons whiskey is so popular is that there’s no single way to enjoy it. There’s the purist route — straight and neat, no mixers, no ice — but what fun is being a purist? You can add water to it, which can enhance certain bottles’ flavors or you can add it with other ingredients to make delicious mixed drinks. It’s the foundation of the Manhattan, the Old Fashioned, the Whiskey Sour and many others.
