Scotch Whisky
Years Aged

Product description

Complex yet perfectly balanced, our 12 Years Old reflects the raw essence of Bowmore - thrashing waves, windswept landscapes and generations of tradition. Bowmore 12 Years Old has received much critical acclaim; the late, great whisky writer Michael Jackson proclaimed it "remarkably long and complex". We like to think of it as vanilla ice cream at a beach bonfire. Winner of Gold Medal at the 2017 International Spirits Challenge

If you like single malts especially Lagavoulun this 12 year old is top notch the price is great and the Scotch is smooth ,warm, peaty, and has the lingering taste of a great Scotch on your palate you will not be disappointed

This is a good example of the variety of islay single malts. The nose is the most enjoyable part of this pour. Heavier on the heather (sometimes tasted as cardboard or antiseptic) than the peat. Citrus, sea salt and heather rule this. The finish is thin and focuses on that heather/antiseptic note. Not what I was anticipating, but nice as a counterpoint to peatier islays

This is my budget alternative to Lagavulin 16. There isn't a huge difference in my enjoyment, but it's ~40% cheaper. It's peaty, smokey, spicy, smooth, and a during the long finish I find it a touch sweet. Hands down my favorite scotch for the dollar.

I enjoyed this Scotch. A bit peaty, but smooth.

Yes, whiskey is gluten-free, thanks to the distillation process used to make it. The Celiac Disease Foundation concluded that it can safely be considered gluten-free, though it’s still possible that some people with high gluten sensitivity or celiac disease could have a reaction to whiskeys created from certain grains.
Whiskey can include a large number of different distilled spirits made from fermented grain mash — usually cereal grains like rye, barley malt, wheat and corn. The drink undergoes aging in wooden containers, most often oak.
One of the reasons whiskey is so popular is that there’s no single way to enjoy it. There’s the purist route — straight and neat, no mixers, no ice — but what fun is being a purist? You can add water to it, which can enhance certain bottles’ flavors or you can add it with other ingredients to make delicious mixed drinks. It’s the foundation of the Manhattan, the Old Fashioned, the Whiskey Sour and many others.
