Product description

Our Rye Whiskey is a blend of two straight rye mash bills, aged 4 to 6 years in high-char American oak barrels. The first is a high-rye, which adds notes of cinnamon and clove, and the second, a low-rye, contributes notes of caramel, honey, and citrus peel. The final spirit is proofed with limestone-filtered water from our spring house built in 1909 and represents our team’s thoughtful approach to crafting a classic Maryland-style Rye Whiskey.

MD style rye is making a come back and I love how approachable and light this one is. Great for refreshing cocktails during the summer months. I am definitely going to try the recipe that Anthony posted below.

If you are looking to try a great rye whiskey, I definitely recommend Sagamore Spirit Rye. The sweetness of the high corn mash-bill, balances out the spiciness of the rye. I can see why this product has received over 50+ awards. My favorite cocktail: Cold Brew Old Fashioned: 1pt Mr Black Cold Brew Coffee Liquor 1pt Sagamore Spirit Rye Dash of Orange Bitters.

The smoothest rye I have ever had. The best.

Super easy to drink, neat or in a cocktail. Not your typical rye.

I was truly impressed with this rye. It was easy to drink, well rounded and full of flavor. The bottle is super cool too.

FAQs

Yes, whiskey is gluten-free, thanks to the distillation process used to make it. The Celiac Disease Foundation concluded that it can safely be considered gluten-free, though it’s still possible that some people with high gluten sensitivity or celiac disease could have a reaction to whiskeys created from certain grains.
Whiskey can include a large number of different distilled spirits made from fermented grain mash — usually cereal grains like rye, barley malt, wheat and corn. The drink undergoes aging in wooden containers, most often oak.
One of the reasons whiskey is so popular is that there’s no single way to enjoy it. There’s the purist route — straight and neat, no mixers, no ice — but what fun is being a purist? You can add water to it, which can enhance certain bottles’ flavors or you can add it with other ingredients to make delicious mixed drinks. It’s the foundation of the Manhattan, the Old Fashioned, the Whiskey Sour and many others.
