Product description

High West Rendezvous Whiskey is a blend of straight rye whiskeys with a unique botanical and spice character. A purposeful blend of column- and pot-still whiskeys, this whiskey never is chill-filtered and is aged in charred American white oak barrels. This process gives this blended whiskey a high rye mash bill and uncompromising flavor. Notes of cinnamon, dried cherries, vanilla, caramel, toasted walnuts, and candied fruit pair with a balanced body that makes this very spicy American whiskey perfect in a classic Manhattan cocktail and other whiskey drinks. Or enjoy this cinnamon whiskey straight up; each sip delivers flavors of clove and vanilla with a lingering ginger finish complemented by fragrant spices. Choose High West and enjoy delicious craft whiskey made with the pioneering spirit. Sip Responsibly. Rendezvous® Rye Straight Rye Whiskey 46% Alc/Vol © 2022 High West Distillery, Park City, UT

Palettes are subjective but this is my favorite rye. Flavorful, powerful, mellow, nothing to prove, and smoothest when poured neat. Nothing about it tastes thin or cheap. Finishes like a honey crisp apple.

High West makes a number of unique American Whiskey blends and the Rendezvous Rye is their flagship. Smooth, spicy, and all around delicious. It's the baseline I compare most other Ryes to.

FAQs

Yes, whiskey is gluten-free, thanks to the distillation process used to make it. The Celiac Disease Foundation concluded that it can safely be considered gluten-free, though it’s still possible that some people with high gluten sensitivity or celiac disease could have a reaction to whiskeys created from certain grains.
Whiskey can include a large number of different distilled spirits made from fermented grain mash — usually cereal grains like rye, barley malt, wheat and corn. The drink undergoes aging in wooden containers, most often oak.
One of the reasons whiskey is so popular is that there’s no single way to enjoy it. There’s the purist route — straight and neat, no mixers, no ice — but what fun is being a purist? You can add water to it, which can enhance certain bottles’ flavors or you can add it with other ingredients to make delicious mixed drinks. It’s the foundation of the Manhattan, the Old Fashioned, the Whiskey Sour and many others.
