Product description

High West A Midwinter Night's Dram Whiskey is made to be savored, like the works of playwright William Shakespeare. This limited-release version of High West Rendezvous Whiskey is a sumptuous marriage of rye whiskeys finished in port wine barrels. A top-secret ratio of whiskeys, it never is chill-filtered, and the blend is aged in charred American white oak barrels prior to finishing in tawny and ruby port wine barrels. This process gives this blended whiskey uncompromising aroma and flavor, with the rye forming a beautiful base of vanilla, caramel, and cinnamon, while the port barrels provide notes of plum, dried fruit, and spice. With its aromas of muddled blackberries, honey-poached figs, chocolate-covered cherries, toasted marshmallow, gentian root, star anise, hoisin sauce, and well-worn leather, this port finished whiskey's nose evokes feelings of being wrapped up in a warm blanket by the fire on a crisp evening. Like a proper holiday plum pudding, this aged whiskey is brimming with flavors of plums, blackberries, spiced bitter orange peel, toffee cookies with orange tea, fresh dates, cinnamon strudel, brown sugar, and dried thyme leaves. Enjoy this cinnamon whiskey straight up, savoring its notes of mulling spices, dried fruits, and crème anglaise, sipping it slowly through the coldest nights. Choose High West and enjoy delicious craft whiskey made with the pioneering spirit. Sip Responsibly. A Midwinter Night’s Dram® Straight Rye Whiskey 49.3% Alc/Vol © 2022 High West Distillery, Park City, UT

It is a gift, so I don’t know how it tastes…but the bottle is beautiful and clean.

One of my favorites for years now, but the price gouging has made it almost unbearable. I bought two bottles from the distillery a few years ago for $125/ea. and seeing these prices makes you furious. Such a shame to ruin such an amazing brand.

The best out of High West. I used to buy this bad boy for less than $140 back in 2020. Unfortunately, those days are gone. If you find it for under $240, go for it. Otherwise, wait and get yourself a Whistlepig 12.

Haven’t tried this one yet but it’s hard to do that when my shop is selling it at 3 TIMES the retail price. This price gouging from the secondary market is ridiculous in an actual shop.

If you like whiskey you have to get your hands on this one. It's a small batch rye whiskey finish in old port barrels. Perfect drink for winter! It's also named after William Shakespeare's A Midwinter Night's Dream. #whiskey #drinks #happyhour #influenster

Every year this whiskey delivers. They are different enough to enjoy a year to year but still have the herbal and Christmas base flavors.

A Midwinter Night's Dram by High West was named after "A midsummer Night's Dream" by William Shakespeare. It is a straight rye whiskey finished in port and French oak barrels. On the nose you get cinnamon and citrus notes. On the palate there's black cherry and fog jam, with a bit of wooden spice and orange peel on the finish. Overall, a great choice!

    Incredible!

FAQs

Yes, whiskey is gluten-free, thanks to the distillation process used to make it. The Celiac Disease Foundation concluded that it can safely be considered gluten-free, though it’s still possible that some people with high gluten sensitivity or celiac disease could have a reaction to whiskeys created from certain grains.
Whiskey can include a large number of different distilled spirits made from fermented grain mash — usually cereal grains like rye, barley malt, wheat and corn. The drink undergoes aging in wooden containers, most often oak.
One of the reasons whiskey is so popular is that there’s no single way to enjoy it. There’s the purist route — straight and neat, no mixers, no ice — but what fun is being a purist? You can add water to it, which can enhance certain bottles’ flavors or you can add it with other ingredients to make delicious mixed drinks. It’s the foundation of the Manhattan, the Old Fashioned, the Whiskey Sour and many others.
