After two weeks and over 200 hours worked at the top of the world making oil for the United States at the Kuparuk oilfield you come home to your loving family, a sweet wife of 32 years and daughter working on her college degree. Work hard, play hard right. Basil Hayden's Two by Two with its smooth taste, no bite, spicy , toffee flavored, vanilla, buttery grain, oak, rye spice and a bit of orange flavor. Just what oilfield trash needs to relax and enjoy their 2 weeks off. Thank you for a wonderful whiskey please keep it available in Alaska.

Good in both cocktails or straight up. Best I have dipped!

9 & 10 hour days behind a desk in the Colorado high country demand a satisfying spirit after work. Family life demands you only get the one. Trips to the liquor store can be a daunting endeavor, but I made my decision after one glance at Two By Two and haven't looked back. Two ounces, dealt neat in a tumbler, while watching the snow pile up at 7k ft. Bring on tomorrow!

FAQs

Yes, whiskey is gluten-free, thanks to the distillation process used to make it. The Celiac Disease Foundation concluded that it can safely be considered gluten-free, though it’s still possible that some people with high gluten sensitivity or celiac disease could have a reaction to whiskeys created from certain grains.
Whiskey can include a large number of different distilled spirits made from fermented grain mash — usually cereal grains like rye, barley malt, wheat and corn. The drink undergoes aging in wooden containers, most often oak.
One of the reasons whiskey is so popular is that there’s no single way to enjoy it. There’s the purist route — straight and neat, no mixers, no ice — but what fun is being a purist? You can add water to it, which can enhance certain bottles’ flavors or you can add it with other ingredients to make delicious mixed drinks. It’s the foundation of the Manhattan, the Old Fashioned, the Whiskey Sour and many others.
