Product description

Crafted from locally indigenous heirloom barley farmed on-site, and proofed using water from the Charente river, Brenne is a 100% organic uniquely seed-to-spirit whisky. The first single malt in the word aged exclusively in French Limousin Oak and Cognac casks, Brenne Estate Cask is twice-distilled in a copper alembic still, and aged for a minimum of six years. The whisky has soft fruit and French patisserie aromas with creamy and complex sugar notes of rich creme brûlée and burnt caramel. On the palate: notes of banana, tropical fruits, and warm spices like cinnamon and clove.

I love this smooth sipper. Redolent of vanilla and honey, it’s a nice break from peaty or whiffy whisky.

Unexpected but pleasant flavor, even having read other reviews first. Mild and fruity, lingering burn but not harsh at all. Unique and highly recommended if you enjoy a smoother, more balanced whisky.

Great buy for any whisky drinker. Amazing for mixed company.

Don't go into this thinking it is a Scotch or American Whiskey. Yes, it is made from malt and that is certainly present. But there is a lot of fruit characteristics in the flavor and in the nose. I am assuming that this is from the barrels they use which make it very unique and wonderful.

FAQs

Yes, whiskey is gluten-free, thanks to the distillation process used to make it. The Celiac Disease Foundation concluded that it can safely be considered gluten-free, though it’s still possible that some people with high gluten sensitivity or celiac disease could have a reaction to whiskeys created from certain grains.
Whiskey can include a large number of different distilled spirits made from fermented grain mash — usually cereal grains like rye, barley malt, wheat and corn. The drink undergoes aging in wooden containers, most often oak.
One of the reasons whiskey is so popular is that there’s no single way to enjoy it. There’s the purist route — straight and neat, no mixers, no ice — but what fun is being a purist? You can add water to it, which can enhance certain bottles’ flavors or you can add it with other ingredients to make delicious mixed drinks. It’s the foundation of the Manhattan, the Old Fashioned, the Whiskey Sour and many others.
