Found this stuff in Galway, bought a bunch to bring home. I was in it for the name, but honestly? Favorite Irish whiskey! Even got my scotch purist uncle to like the stuff.

So when I finished my latest manuscript and realized we were out of Scotch I ran down the to my local and debated on whether to splurge on a 12 or 16 year old Glenlivet or get something more in line with the advance on my book... then I saw Writer's Tears! It was the label, of course, that did it. The contents were good too! I took a photo of my edited 390 page manuscript, tagged with post-its and my bottle of Writer's Tears half empty-or half full, depending on your outlook on life to commemorate. BTW the ms was accepted by my editor without any additional work! So my tears dried up, as did the bottle so I am off to buy one more for me and one for my agent!

This is one of those whiskeys that you tell your friends about, but it's almost a myth because we can't buy or order it anywhere where I'm from. If anyone knows where I can buy or order this brand online, please let me know.

FAQs

Yes, whiskey is gluten-free, thanks to the distillation process used to make it. The Celiac Disease Foundation concluded that it can safely be considered gluten-free, though it’s still possible that some people with high gluten sensitivity or celiac disease could have a reaction to whiskeys created from certain grains.
Whiskey can include a large number of different distilled spirits made from fermented grain mash — usually cereal grains like rye, barley malt, wheat and corn. The drink undergoes aging in wooden containers, most often oak.
One of the reasons whiskey is so popular is that there’s no single way to enjoy it. There’s the purist route — straight and neat, no mixers, no ice — but what fun is being a purist? You can add water to it, which can enhance certain bottles’ flavors or you can add it with other ingredients to make delicious mixed drinks. It’s the foundation of the Manhattan, the Old Fashioned, the Whiskey Sour and many others.
