Product description

Elegant but full-bodied, this whisky has spent ten years maturing in American white oak ex-bourbon casks before being extra-matured for a further two years in Oloroso and PX Sherry casks from Jerez in Spain. Lasanta is Gaelic for 'warmth and passion', a reminder not just of the Spanish provenance of these Oloroso sherry butts, but also a reflection of this expression's lusciously soft texture and deep, enticingly sweet aroma. Glenmorangie has long been known for its expertise in wood. For thirty years, our whisky creators have innovated in the art of extra-maturation, maturing spirit first in ex-bourbon casks, then transferring it into ex-wine casks, so that it could gain further layers of flavour. Perfect for all those who wish to start or continue their journey into single malts, this award-winning range showcases our skills in cask management.

About as delicious as a scotch gets. The Sherry finish is just perfect, not too sweet at all, but does take the edge off and adds another delicious layer.

I do not know whether I got a bad batch or what, but it was undrinkable.

I found the original Glenmorangie a few years ago at duty free, and really liked it. Since then, I’ve experimented with several different offerings from them. This Lasanta is my absolute favorite. Very similar in taste to the signet, but at a fraction of the price. Love it!

FAQs

Yes, whiskey is gluten-free, thanks to the distillation process used to make it. The Celiac Disease Foundation concluded that it can safely be considered gluten-free, though it’s still possible that some people with high gluten sensitivity or celiac disease could have a reaction to whiskeys created from certain grains.
Whiskey can include a large number of different distilled spirits made from fermented grain mash — usually cereal grains like rye, barley malt, wheat and corn. The drink undergoes aging in wooden containers, most often oak.
One of the reasons whiskey is so popular is that there’s no single way to enjoy it. There’s the purist route — straight and neat, no mixers, no ice — but what fun is being a purist? You can add water to it, which can enhance certain bottles’ flavors or you can add it with other ingredients to make delicious mixed drinks. It’s the foundation of the Manhattan, the Old Fashioned, the Whiskey Sour and many others.
