I'd give this a 4.5 or 4.6 if I could add decimal points.. Huge vanilla and oak and very smooth. One of the best bourbons for 50 bucks you'll find

Product description
Woodford Reserve Double Oaked is an innovative approach to twice-barreled bourbon that creates a rich and colorful flavor unlike any other bourbon in the market. Starting with Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, which is matured in handcrafted new white oak barrels; the bourbon is then uniquely matured for a second time in another new barrel. The second barrel is deeply toasted before a light charring, creating the unique flavors of Woodford Reserve Double Oaked, a smooth, full-bodied bourbon with a long, rich finish.

Steve George Gift from a client that's good enough I'm buying again for myself. Smooth, nice feel and finish. Makes an excellent Old Fashioned and is superb in Irish Coffee (yes, I know it's not Irish but it's still delicious).

juliakpillow Reviewed at brown-forman.comReviewed at brown-forman.comI have been a Woodford girl for quite some time, but was gifted a bottle of Double Oaked after a project completion. So so smooth, with a slight vanilla finish. Definitely popped right up to the top of my "Buy me this" list. Now - good bourbon isn't cheap, but it's definitely not the most expensive readily available bourbon.
chellybelly1234 Reviewed at brown-forman.comReviewed at brown-forman.comThis is the only bourbon we drink anymore. It's smooth and easy going down! It's also great in burgers!
TIMOTHY Solid dark chocolate notes, mild cigar. Was very impressed with this one. Drank this offering neat, could not stop drinking this one. It far exceeds the regular Woodford Reserve!!!
curvesflyanyway Reviewed at brown-forman.comReviewed at brown-forman.comMy husband loves this whiskey. I don't drink it straight, but it makes an amazing hot toddy. It has a very smooth taste and nice Smokey undertones. I enjoy with with my lemon and honey. One we keep in our local whiskey bar.
FAQs
Because of the liquor’s aging process variation, bourbon’s colors range from light amber to dark caramel and each bottle must contain at least 40% ABV. Bourbon can only be called bourbon if it’s aged in an oak barrel; barrels must be new and are pre-charred to help the liquid extract as much flavor as possible from the wood.
While both whiskey and bourbon are made from the same base ingredients (a predominantly corn mash, yeast and water), a spirit can only be called bourbon if it’s crafted in the United States, surpasses a minimum 40% ABV and is aged in new, charred, white oak barrels. Bourbons are generally on the younger side of the whiskey family (compared to older whiskies like scotch) and thus deliver a sweeter profile.
Raise a glass to science: While rye, barley and wheat all contain the gluten protein, the actual gluten is removed during the bourbon’s distillation process, in which the gluten molecules are separated from the actual distillate used to make the final product.
