Rowan's Creek was given to me as a Christmas Gift from some folks with my Son's recommendation. My Son and I usually agree 95% of the time, and we Agree this time, also. However, our agreement is that the Rowan's Creek we tasted was medicinal (at best) with a Robitussin finish. Absolutely the Most Disappointing Bourbon I've tasted in the past 5 years. The nose was medicinal, and the taste was likewise. I'll try a mixed drink with it, and if that's Not tolerable, then I'll either use it for cooking or throw away.

Rowan’s Creek is another fine offering from the folks at KBD (Kentucky Bourbon Distillers). While that’s a nice name, the truth is that it’s sourced from another distillery, as KBD (also responsible for the Willett brand) has only recently begun production at their brand new distillery in Bardstown, KY. Hence, this, and other KBD bottlings, were actually distilled by another producer and bottled by KBD. Over time, most, if not all, the Willett/KBD products will be made in Bardstown. But until then, we’re not completely sure of the actual source, though the Bernheim Distillery in Louisville is a likely location with Heaven Hill as the likely distiller.View all products by Rowan's CreekCalifornia Residents: Click here for Proposition 65 WARNING

If you want a great strong bourbon that’s not quite as strong as Noah’s Mill. Good for when you want to get loaded but not soil yourself.

If you like Bulleit, you'll like Rowan's Creek. My local liquor store guy introduced it to me about 15 years ago after he returned from a Bourbon conference. He was selling it for about $15. He closed and I haven't been able to find it until now. Thank you Drizly/Wine Plus. Very nice moderately priced Bourbon though under the radar.

Since Pappy isn't available year round, this is one of my favorite alternatives.
