Product Description

The world's only blend of bourbon, rye and Scotch whiskeys, High West Campfire boasts a highly unusual, distinctive taste that's nothing short of delicious. As the name suggests, Campfire is best enjoyed with a group of old friends gathered 'round for a trip down memory lane. But we certainly won't judge if you pull up a chair with a good-looking stranger, either! Campfire originated when High West founders David and Jane Perkins took a trip to Islay. At the Bruichladdich distillery bed-and-breakfast, they smelled peat wafting in the air. Turns out, the hospitable hostesses were simmering a bottle of peated whiskey and sugar, which they served over ripe honeydew melon for dessert. David and Jane were struck by the unusual, delicious flavors, and they got the idea to mix peat and sweet bourbon with fruity notes to achieve a similar flavor profile. The sweet honey aromas came from ripe bourbon, the floral, fruity spice from a mature rye and the smoky peat from Islay Scotch whiskey. The result was High West Campfire. Campfire is aged from five to eight years in new, charred American oak barrels and is 46 percent alcohol by volume. The aroma is quite fruity, floral and spicy on the nose with hints of caramel and butterscotch. The name Campfire comes from the light smoke and smoldering wood notes paired with jasmine, leather, tobacco, toasted bread and pine resin. The taste is so distinctive that Campfire earned High West an International Review of Spirits Award.
