Product Description

A smooth rum and a connoisseur’s sipper, this rum’s dry, tannic finish is rare in aged rums—almost as surprising as its high-mountain origins in the heart of the Colorado Rockies. Exclusiva ages for three years at nearly 9,000 feet above sea level—two and a half in an American white oak barrel that previously held Laws Colorado whiskey, followed by six months in a French oak barrel that aged Cabernet Sauvignon and Port. Cinnamon meets red wine and honey meets vanilla without overwhelming your palate with sweetness. Gluten free. Distilled by a certified B Corp. Please enjoy our Rum responsibly and remember to recycle Montanya Distillers, Crested Butte, CO

Rum is a distilled liquor made from sugarcane products - often made from either molasses or sugarcane juice. While it's made from either, most rum is actually made from the former (molasses,) which is basically the residue left behind after sugar has been crystalized from sugarcane juice. Since sugar is so important to the process, rum is produced in sugar producing areas such as the Caribbean, and North and South American countries.
