Product Description

The Real McCoy 12 Year Aged Distiller's Proof Single Blended Rum is real rum: unmodified and made in small batches in copper pot and column stills, then tropically aged for 12 years in American oak bourbon barrels with no added sugar, flavor or chemical stabilizers.* This aged dark rum is single sourced and produced by the 4th generation family Foursquare Distillery in Barbados. This bottle of rum features buttery oak, earthy notes and spicy dark chocolate on the nose, with complex wood and spice notes on the palate and a long, elegant finish. Ideal sipped straight or on the rocks, this Caribbean rum also works well in premium cocktails. Unadulterated in the Prohibition Tradition of legendary rum runner Bill McCoy, this is the genuine article… It's The Real McCoy (R). *Gluten free, 0 fat, 0 carbs, 0 protein, 112 cals per 1.5 oz serving per Brewing & Distilling Analytics, KY. 46% alc. by vol. I really don't drink mixed drinks, kind of a straight out of the glass drinker, so a change of pace from a single malt, or aged bourbon is rum, not spiced just a good all around aged rum. this one is very smooth, has an awesome flavor with no bite and at the end it has a finish that will make you pour another one.

FAQs

Aged rum is older rums that have matured and lost a bit of the original liquid from evaporation, but have a more complex character than unaged rum. That amount of liquid that evaporates during aging is affectionately called the 'angels share'.
The best way to drink anything is the way that you like it. If you're looking for a suggestion - try it the same way you would whisky. Often rum is drank with a bit of water in it, or an ice cube or two. This gives rum the best sipping experience.
This depends. Often, rum is required to age for at least one year. However, rums are aged for differing years which attributes to changes in color and flavor. White rum is aged for the least amount of time, where dark rum is aged for some time.
Rum is aged in oak casks - commonly bourbon casks, but sometimes wooden casks or stainless steel tanks. Each distiller is different - so its always a good idea to read how they age their rum for a full understanding of the product.
