Product description

Santa Teresa 1796 is a Venezuelan rum with a unique and complex production process that employs a traditional Spanish solera for a RICH, REFINED and UNEXPECTEDLY DRY taste that evolves in every sip. Santa Teresa 1796: rich, refined and unexpectedly dry taste that evolves in every sip. Its rich, amber reddish color, delivers a fruity aroma, with notes of honey and dark chocolate. The flavor is mellow, yet complex. This rum offers tobacco and leather notes, toasted and smoky, and a well-rounded balance that can only be achieved through the Solera rum-making method. Santa Teresa 1796 Rum is full-bodied while remaining delicate, elegant and velvety. The finish evokes attributes borrowed from the oaks in which it aged.

I haven’t had a chance to taste it, the cork crumbled as I tried to open it. Disappointed. 3 stars as apparently it is a great spirit but bad packaging / storage.

Im venezuelan living in st charles, mo. Just found a place that sales it, my heart got warm again. Best rum. Dont mix it please, just straight on the rocks (maybe an orange twist) and you'll feel the taste of paradise

FAQs

Aged rum is older rums that have matured and lost a bit of the original liquid from evaporation, but have a more complex character than unaged rum. That amount of liquid that evaporates during aging is affectionately called the 'angels share'.
The best way to drink anything is the way that you like it. If you're looking for a suggestion - try it the same way you would whisky. Often rum is drank with a bit of water in it, or an ice cube or two. This gives rum the best sipping experience.
This depends. Often, rum is required to age for at least one year. However, rums are aged for differing years which attributes to changes in color and flavor. White rum is aged for the least amount of time, where dark rum is aged for some time.
Rum is aged in oak casks - commonly bourbon casks, but sometimes wooden casks or stainless steel tanks. Each distiller is different - so its always a good idea to read how they age their rum for a full understanding of the product.
