My first time trying it but honestly, not a fan. It was find, too vanilla, syrup-y sweet for my palate as I prefer to sip rum - but I imagine it would make a decent cocktail if that's what you were after.

I'm just getting into sipping rum, but I really like this. Not too sweet, but sweet enough with a smooth mouth feel, great nose, and is just really nice.

Enjoying our daiquiris and a pseudo-Dark and Stormy.

While in the Navy, I visited a Cigar Bar in Panama City, Panama. While there a gentleman offered my friends and I a drink and a cigar. He poured us a glass of Cuban Rum. It was, and still is the best glass of rum I've ever had in my life. Havana Club Anejo Clasico is the 2nd best. It is smooth and the hints of fruit and vanilla leaves you wanting that next sip. You will not be disappointed

After seeing a recipe with this rum using coffee I NEEDED to try it for myself. Crafted an elegant cocktail using some coffee, vermouth, simple syrup, and of course Havana Club. This aged rum was perfect, the hints of vanilla and oak blended excellently for this nice boozy play that was a great cocktail prior to a night out.

FAQs

Aged rum is older rums that have matured and lost a bit of the original liquid from evaporation, but have a more complex character than unaged rum. That amount of liquid that evaporates during aging is affectionately called the 'angels share'.
The best way to drink anything is the way that you like it. If you're looking for a suggestion - try it the same way you would whisky. Often rum is drank with a bit of water in it, or an ice cube or two. This gives rum the best sipping experience.
This depends. Often, rum is required to age for at least one year. However, rums are aged for differing years which attributes to changes in color and flavor. White rum is aged for the least amount of time, where dark rum is aged for some time.
Rum is aged in oak casks - commonly bourbon casks, but sometimes wooden casks or stainless steel tanks. Each distiller is different - so its always a good idea to read how they age their rum for a full understanding of the product.
