Aged Rum
Puerto Rico

Product description

Created in 1862, BACARDÍ Reserva Ocho rum is one of the oldest private rum blends in the world. For seven generations, the Bacardí family enjoyed it as their personal reserve. Happily, today everyone can enjoy this golden sipping rum and create special moments together. BACARDÍ Reserva Ocho rum boasts warming notes of butterscotch, nutmeg and dried apricots. Longer aging brings out additional complexity of flavors from the barrel and develops a rich body with velvety smoothness. Rich mahogany in hue.

One of my favorites. A nice mellowed, aged flavor without tasting like the barrel.

Absolutely delicious! One of my favorite things to do with it is replace it as the spirit in an old-fashioned. Gives you a great new take on it.

The aged rums have a smoother bite in your throat. Prices have gone up for aged rums, especially those from Puerto Rico. This liquor provider has a nice selection. I couldn't believe how fast my order arrived. Well packaged as well. I'm a very pleased customer

I love a nice amber rum, that is flavorful and strong. This rum isn't the top rum in the world to me, but it is really good!! My favorite is from Belize but this one comes in 3rd too me

Rum and coke would be my "go to" drink for sure. It's perfect with Coke on ice. Not to harsh and doesn't get me to intoxicated. I love this for nights on the town. A whole vibe.

Aged rum is older rums that have matured and lost a bit of the original liquid from evaporation, but have a more complex character than unaged rum. That amount of liquid that evaporates during aging is affectionately called the 'angels share'.
The best way to drink anything is the way that you like it. If you're looking for a suggestion - try it the same way you would whisky. Often rum is drank with a bit of water in it, or an ice cube or two. This gives rum the best sipping experience.
This depends. Often, rum is required to age for at least one year. However, rums are aged for differing years which attributes to changes in color and flavor. White rum is aged for the least amount of time, where dark rum is aged for some time.
Rum is aged in oak casks - commonly bourbon casks, but sometimes wooden casks or stainless steel tanks. Each distiller is different - so its always a good idea to read how they age their rum for a full understanding of the product.
