Originating in Mexico, this low-alcohol alternative to tequila is fortified by being blended with blanco tequila. Agave wine is produced from the fermentation of blue agave sap.
While both are made from the same blue agave plant, agave wine is not tequila. Agave wine does have a similar flavor to tequila, but the production process results in a much lower alcohol content.
Because of its low-alcohol content and similar taste to tequila, agave wine is ideal as a substitute mixer in classic drinks like margaritas.
