I initally thought gin distilled from wine sounded strange, but I figured what the heck, sounds like an interesting idea. Just awful. Overpoweringly sweet. Tastes like Franzia rose with a few extra cups of sugar and grain alcohol. No subtlety or flavors from the botanicals make it through the in your face sweetness. I approached with an open mind but was not at all a fan. Really surprised me as I've never met a gin I couldnt get though (even if it wasn't my cup of tea), but this has been in my bar for months since initial few tastings and its going nowhere fast. Can't imagine any cocktail/application that this would be worthy of.

We distill our celebrated Wölffer Estate Rosé wine to use as the gin base. For our main flavoring, we use Juniper berries picked by hand from the bushes at our beautiful Estate. Fine hints of Anise, Fennel, Coriander, Cumin, and Cardamom are also added, along with fresh Mint from the garden. Our still is a copper pot still from Christian Carl, Germany. And because distilling isn’t our main business, we can afford to distill at a slow pace and use only the purest and best alcohol, discarding the rest. A small amount of grape skin extract creates the beautiful pink color.View all products by Wolffer EstateCalifornia Residents: Click here for Proposition 65 WARNING
