It was more fruity than most gina, but it was very nice.

The Botanist Gin is the first and only Islay Dry Gin from Islay, Scotland. A versatile dry gin that is crafted using a unique combination of 22 botanicals that are hand-foraged locally and sustainably on the Scottish island of Islay. These botanicals are picked at varying times of the year, and can only be picked when it’s dry—a frequent challenge on Islay! Our dedicated forager then carefully and meticulously dry all of the botanicals in order to be infused during our slow, simmer distillation process. This incredible attention to detail results in a beautifully complex and elegantly smooth gin with a versatile flavor profile that is perfect for cocktails. This botanical breath of Islay is captured in a stunning glass bottle that features the 22 hand-picked botanicals etched in Latin and is best served in a classic Botanist & Tonic, or as a perfectly chilled martini. We encourage you to experiment with the local & seasonal flavors around you when making your unique Botanist cocktail. My absolute favorite Gin

This is an AMAZING gin. You can actually taste the different botanicals that went into its production. Because of these botanicals, I would pair this gin with tonic water, club soda, or anything else that doesn't compete with a different flavor. For instance, this does not go well with Cassis. The flavors get all mixed up and it's weird.
It’s just Ok gin, I prefer Stray Dog Wild Gin much better
Great flavor, complex yet balanced. One of my favorites!

About the brand
WILD. FORAGED. DISTILLED.
The Botanist was born out of the world renowned Bruichladdich Distillery. Former Master Distiller, Jim McEwan, was the visionary behind The Botanist Gin. He set out with a vision to express the heart and soul of the remote Scottish island of Islay. This vision was brought to life with the help of two professional botanists, Dr. Richard and Mrs. Mavis Gulliver. They were instrumental in the selection of the herbs, leaves and flora that would eventually make up the 22 unique botanicals that are infused in The Botanist Gin. The Botanist is the only gin distillery in Europe that is B Corp Certified, adhering to their detailed standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency. Set up in 2006, the B Corp certification process was organized to help mission-driven businesses protect and improve their positive impact over time. Acknowledging that governments and non-profits can only go so far in driving change, we join numerous for-profit businesses that balance profit and purpose, helping to tackle some of the challenges our modern societies face.

The Bianco Negroni
This 3 ingredient drink is as refreshing (and Italian) as it gets. The Negroni is, quite simply, a perfect cocktail. With equal parts Gin, Vermouth, and Bitter Aperitif, it couldn't be easier to make. Intended to be sipped, it's refreshing on a hot day and the perfect pre-dinner drink. Bitter, dry, and refreshing all at once, this variation of the classic Negroni cocktail uses blanc vermouth and a bitter aperitif like Suze.
The Bee's Knees
The phrase the “bee's knees" was used in Prohibition times as slang to mean “the best." This cocktail, a gin sour that's believed to have been created around that time, used lemon and honey to mask the harsh smell of bathtub gin. There are many ways to put your own local & seasonal twist on this classic cocktail, including using local honey and steeping with local herbs (lavender, sage, to name a few).
