Product description

The Borderies is the smallest and most exclusive of the six Cognac growing regions. Cognac Park Borderies Single Vineyard is unique, as one of the only cognac expressions available that is made exclusively from grapes grown in the Borderies and, in this case, at the Tessendier family vineyards in the tiny growing region. From vineyard to bottle, every step of production of this exceptional cognac is performed by Maison Tessendier on their family estate, standing as a true benchmark of the historic distillery. Assembled to highlight the delightful characteristics typical of only the best Borderies cognacs, as seen through its rich and bright apricot color, this bottling exemplifies the particular characteristics typical of the Borderies growing area such as delicate floral aromas and a light palate, this cognac is a smooth transition from a VSOP cognac to an XO and has the combined aromas reminiscent of apricots and vanilla with subtle notes of violets. It finishes by leaving a smooth, supple, long, and memorable taste. Cognac Park is the premier brand from Distillerie Tessendier, founded by Gaston Tessendier in 1880. Today, master blenders Lilian and Jérôme Tessendier - 4th gen. brothers - oversee production, with the goal of distilling and blending cognacs that clearly express the terroir of four different growing regions: Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, The Borderies, and Fins Bois. Each of our blends is created with purpose and vision, carefully balancing the nuances of the geography, climate, and aging conditions that are so important in cognac production.

FAQs

Cognac is a type of brandy that takes its name from the Cognac region of France. Made from twice-distilled white wine, Cognac is distilled in copper pots and aged in wooden barrels. The production techniques of Cognac are very specific, requiring a particular type of grapes, distillation practices and aging requirements.
Hennessy is a Cognac that is made in France but was started by an Irishman. Despite the common belief that Hennessy is a type of whiskey, it is made from grapes — grapes that have been twice-distilled and aged. The only notable similarity it bears to whiskey is that both are aged in oak barrels.
Cognac consumed as an appetizer is usually served neat. It’s also common practice to add a little bit of water, which makes the drink fruitier and more floral. Some water can also help to bring out the subtle spiciness of Cognac while also making it a bit smoother to drink.
