Ever inhale too much campfire smoke? That's what it's like to take a sip of Laphroaig Scotch Whisky. In a good way. With less coughing. Probably. But no guarantees if it's your first sip of this iconic Scotch. As you can imagine, it's not for the faint of heart. But the bold taste and full body won't take long to grow on you. Each variety has something unique to offer, but the flavors of smoked Islay peat and a touch of sweetness remains is the cornerstone of each bottle.
The original Laphroaig is distilled following traditions laid down by Ian Hunter over 75 years ago. In making Laphroaig, malted barley is dried over a peat fire. The smoke from this peat, found only on Islay, gives Laphroaig its particularly rich flavour.
Laphroaig is rich, powerful and has an unmistakable, authentic peat smoke flavor, enhanced by the salt and sea air. It's the signature taste Laphroaig drinkers crave. For over 190 years, we've been making our whisky the same way-with every step and every time-honored ingredient added just the way it was from the beginning.
