Don Julio tequila is produced at La Primavera Distillery in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico--one of the country's most fertile agave-growing regions. The microclimate and mineral-rich clay soil allow the blue agave plant to flourish. Each bottle of Don Julio tequila is produced here and features our NOM number—our seal of authenticity—signifying where the tequila was made. Unlike many other distilleries, La Primavera only produces ultra-premium tequila, crafted with the same passion and attention to detail that founder Don Julio González embodied.
Great Tequila Takes Time
Each Blue Weber Agave plant must grow for seven to ten years before it can be hand-harvested by expert Jimadors. Don Julio's patience, tradition and dedication to the craft allows for a mellow, fully developed agave flavor, and our precision quality sets our brand apart as the world's finest luxury tequila.
The piñas cut from the blue agave plants are slowly steam-cooked for 3 days to release the sweet agave juice. It takes eight pounds of blue agave to produce one bottle of tequila. Each batch of our tequila is aged from eight months to two-and-a-half years in temperature and humidity controlled white oak barrels.

Don Julio Blanco Tequila
Don Julio Blanco is the base from which all our other variants begin. Commonly referred to as "silver" tequila, its crisp agave flavor and hints of citrus make it an essential component to margaritas and other innovative cocktails. Light and sweet with a clean and dry finish, our Blanco Tequila is 100% gluten-free.
Don Julio Añejo Tequila
Aged in smaller batches of American white-oak barrels for eighteen months, Don Julio Añejo Tequila is a testament to the craft of superior tasting tequila. Rich, distinctive and wonderfully complex, its flavor strikes the perfect balance between agave, wood and hints of vanilla. Full-bodied, honeyed and oak-infused, this blend completes the experience with a bright and lightly spiced finish.
